There always seems to be other pet ones but not for horses. These are my angels

Here's our share pony Simba, and my horse crazy 8yo

I remember spending hours brushing and platting my horses tail.

This boy is mine- it's a bugger when your new shoes don't quite match!

He's a haflinger cross, 15-2. He's my first horse! I only started riding 3 years ago aged 47. I bought him from the riding school where I have lessons. That was 10 months ago.

I've had loads of support and help from the riding school and the livery folk on the yard - they've been fantastic! It's been a steep learning curve for us, but we are getting on very well together. I love him to bits.

But the mud- my God the mud. And I seem to live in hi-viz now. With straw attached- or not. I have arms like Fatima Whitbread and legs like Sally Gunnel. The weather app is my new best friend.The children complain there are never any carrots in the fridge...

Have had a few weeks off due to work timings but looking forward to getting back in the saddle over the holidays.

I have asked for a horse for Xmas - let's see if DH comes up with the goods! 😆
Obviously I know there won't be one in my stocking - well, not a real one, anyway!

These are our three, retired French Breton draft with the white blaze who is now just an expensive lawnmower due to a stifle injury and mine and Dd's Comtois mares. Love them so much.

Me and my girl - stubborn doesn't get close to describing her but I wouldn't change her ... they all came from France, my girl in particular came from an excellent Comtois breeder in the Alps - I do love me a heavy and she's a biiiiiig girl.
