Who's riding today or this weekend??
whymewhyme · 12/10/2018 06:36
In the predicted weather?? It's pretty windy this morning in my area ( midlands) it's predicted to be 45 mph winds today and raining all day! I had planned to ride this afternoon and over the weekend but I'm a total wimp and my horse is very full of it anyway never mind in 45mph wind! Tell me nobody else is riding and I'm not just a fare weather rider who doesn't want to get on my beast on a windy day??? lol!!! Btw if you lot are riding in this weather hats off!

I'll be riding this morning because it's ok here. However, I dont do bad weather riding. I don't enjoy riding in high wind or rain and my horse doesn't like it either. Riding is my hobby and I do it when I enjoy it and how I enjoy it, not because I feel I ought to!

We're riding on Sunday, it's a pleasure ride and the forecast is good here. Awful today and tomorrow so no, no riding, just in for hay munching.

Dd’s going xc schooling tomorrow - it’s a bit breezy here (SE) but not too bad. Few showers forecast for this morning but sunny spells apart from that. We’re going with her instructor who would tell us if it wasn’t safe

I ride in that kind of wind... But not in the arena (weird pipe noises through jump stands) or near trees. Only out in the fields. Horse comes from coastal Scotland so doesn't care about blowy.
Worst I've ridden in was nearly 60mph. We came over the brow of a hill and just about came off our feet.

I usually ride on Saturdays but I can’t tomorrow because I’m going away and I’m secretly relieved!
Dontknowwhatimdoing · 12/10/2018 15:59
I rode this morning, to be fair it was very windy but not raining, and I only did 20 minutes in the school. I'm meant to be competing tomorrow, but not sure if it will be safe to take the trailer out in the high winds.
whymewhyme · 12/10/2018 16:34
You lot put me to shame! It's been awfull here today so my boy has been in all day. I've planned to ride tomorrow afternoon now so maybe the wind will die down by then!
Jonsnowsghost · 12/10/2018 16:37
I had a lesson this morning, also in the Midlands! It was pretty windy and my horse can be quite spooky at the bushes around the school but he was very focused and barely noticed the wind. Also competing on Sunday! I've had to turn into a non fair weather rider
bigsighall · 12/10/2018 16:40
Yep did this morning (and will do tomorrow morning) in the tipping rain and strong wind. My horse is really steady tho and I knew she’d be fine. I’ve had others in the past that I would dread even leading in this weather
Wolfiefan · 12/10/2018 16:41
Bits of trees coming down and even whole trees blocking roads in places. Stay safe everyone. Here’s hoping for considerate drivers. Especially as the days get darker.
