Therapy ideas

One of our ponies is incredibley placid. He older and is loaned owned as a first pony. Inevitabley these end as the children move onto their next pony. I wondered if anyone has any ‘out of the box’ ideas of what he could do next. He’s a veteran and I wondered rather than look for another loan is there something else which he could be doing. I really have no idea what but know there is a wealth of ideas of knowledge in the MN community. He’s never lived in a riding school and I’m not sure RDA is what we are looking for but I don’t know what else. I just know he’s very special in manner, how he connects with people and wondered if in his twilight years he could do some good in the world ?

you could try looking into a Therapeutic Riding Programs/Animal Therapy Programs, as they use placid horses. be sure to check where he would be kept, and what would happen in the winter etc.

He could just have a well earned retirement

The vet says he is in such good health as he’s in regular work. He loves shows and being with people. Think he’d be dead in 6 months if he retired!
