Hi, I'd love to make my own fly spray spent £15 on phaser and I was really impressed and used it within 5weeks! Does anybody have any recipes they would be willing to give me? Thank you!!

A few of my friends use this as a home-made remedy and I've just made up a batch to try - no idea if it will work, as the horse-flies are ruthless on my yard and NOTHING (even Phaser, which I love) deters them. But this might work on the mozzies and ordinary flies:

Dettol
Washing up liquid
Cider vinegar (I had to use white vinegar as didn't have any cider vinegar)
Essential oil such as tea tree or citronella.

No idea on quantities/ratios - I just mixed it all up so it wasn't too soapy and hoped for the best!

I used to burn citronella in an oil burner
A few drops in water. I didn't have any flies
I can't now as I have fish and it kills them
