Grooming kit

I have a new horse eeeeek. First one for me in 30 years. We have a zillion kids brushes for our ponies but I want to get my own kit. I have difficulty with my hand and find the small kids brushes really uncomfortable. Our local tack shops only seem to sell these ones.

Years ago I had a brilliant light large leather backed body brush.

My horse is dark bay ISH with fine hair and quite sensitive skin.

Any recommendations for bits of kit that would help me spend hours grooming (cuddling, de stressing Smile) without getting aching hands?

Look on Horse Health - Lemieux. The best way to buy most things is to go to a big show. Hickstead, Hartpury, etc. And visit the trade stands, so much stuff you never knew your horse needed!

I can highly recommend the Haas brushes. I have a sensitive tickly chestnut and he loves being brushed by the brushes in the chestnut pack. My grooming kit consists of my Haas brushes, a hoof pick, mane and tail brush and some magic brushes.

@Polkadotties Just purchased and used today the Haas brush pack for dark bay... (following on from the previous thread about Haas)

Admit was sceptical, but the normally grumpy mare seemed to actually enjoy "parts" of being groomed! Amazing! She was also very interested in sniffing and smelling them prior to grooming...

Expensive yes, but if means I don't hate having to brush my horse, it's worth it - Thank You for the recommendation Smile
