jockey wheel help!

I have been in the car since 9am bringing daugther's new pony home and I have made a very stupid mistake. The jockey wheel was widning but the trailer was not unlocking from the tow bar and I thought, "I am on uneven ground." So I started the car to move it forward a bit, completely forgetting to pull up the jockey wheel, remembered and jumped out. So now I have the same problem but now I can't turn the handle to loosen the clamp to slide the jockey wheel up so I can get to more even ground. Can anyone help?

I'm assuming that you're sorted now, but how did you do it? Did you reverse back to starting position? Or jack the car up? Or just give it a hefty kick?

I have had to jack the car up before, added annoyance that needed tall jack normal one wouldn’t do it :( hope all was sorted
