Head twitch/tick...

I am currently looking after a pony.
She is 3yo and has mild sweet itch.

I have noticed from day one that she has a kind of twitch (only way I can think to describe it) every now and again. 90% of the time to the left.

The only way I can think to describe it is similar to some sort of tourettes in a person....

Anyone got any ideas?

I don't think its head shaking and she hasn't got anything in her ear.

Possibly related to the sweet itch?

It could be pollen-related (allergy/irritation), in which case a muzzle-net/nose-net would be useful. It wouldn't do any harm to try one, anyway.

I have been watching her today and I think her sweet itch is the problem, think...she seems very itchy, always begging for the others to groom her or having a roll (nothing to scratch on in the field).

Going to try and get her itching sorted and see if it stops.

i have her to break so I am a bit concerned that if I can't get a handle on it its going to cause problems with ridden work when she eventually gets there....I did wonder if it was head shaking..
