Hi, we're off to badminton for XC day. Not the first time I've been by a long stretch but it's the first time we'll be taking our 2 year old. The forecast doesn't look great either, I had visions of us ambling round in the sunshine! Any top survival tips?!

Oh lucky you! Envy Look out for my cousin in law Joseph Murphy on Sportsfield Othello (Frankie) riding for Ireland. Love a bit of Badders action, we'll be glued to red button

Heading up tomorrow. I work for one of the top riders although they could have done a better test today. Fingers crossed second horse will be more generously marked!! Enjoy xc day. Will be glued to the red button!!!

Good luck - you'll need comfy footwear and a good deal of stamina, and possibly sharp elbows as it can get very busy. Having said that it's great fun to get close and really appreciate the size of those fences.

My preferred way is to go to a dressage day and then walk the course - last time I did this I managed to hitch on to Paul Tapner doing his course walk and learnt a huge amount, it was fascinating. You can usually get closer to the fences too as they are not fenced off. Then when you watch on the TV you know how big and difficult it is and have the benefit of replays etc.

Enjoy!

Have fun - too far from us, we'll be at Burghley later in the year instead..

Anyone know if there's any coverage of the dressage? (we don't have sky channels etc)

its carnage out there today. Hope all come back safely. Never seen so many tumbles, slips and mishaps.

Looked a massive course in big winds, no wonder there were so many DNF Sad The Irish had a dreadful day,but my boys are home safe and sound Smile

What a day, couldn't believe the non finishers. It did look like a pretty meaty course to say the least. I'm quite glad I was watching from the sofa and not being blown about in the wind....
