More antibiotics needed?

Dhorse has had a cough/cold and will finish his antibiotics today - he's also had some delightfully named stuff called Sputulosin to loosen the mucus.

He's not had a temperature and in himself has been fine - and after a very yukky runny nose it's now running mostly clear with an occasional bit of muck. Cough wise he was never particularly bad, I heard him once yesterday after he'd shot across the field when let out so I'm not sure whether to get some more antibiotics, or wait until Tuesday..

I'm waiting for the vet to call me back, but thought you lot might be able to help!

Can't answer that from personal experience with dhorse, but if it was dd I would not give more antibiotics! The nasal discharge is now clear and the cough has improved, he isn't showing other signs of illness, so I would assume that it would clear up by itself in a couple of days.

Vet said the same, which was my gut instinct. I'd rather stay away from medication if I can, however this came on fast and furious and I was unsure that it would go away as quickly. I'll keep an ear out for the coughing which may take a while longer to go - we've an outing on 4th May so I'm hoping we can make that. He's fit, but I don't want to rush him back so will leave it as long as possible before any exercise.
