Pony vs horse

Hey guys this question prob been on here before but would so luv some feed back! I am 5'6" talk n 10 stone. I'm thinking if buying a 13.2hh pony for myself to ride n have fun with. Wud like to show him n do dressage, farm rides and hacking. He super pony and the confidence I got from riding him was amazing!!! I had a 16hh horse before n all he did was ruin my confidence - along way to fall !!! Ouch!! I've been told i look ok on him but a friend told me u b unable to compete because I am an adult! Pony will b shared with my 10yo daughter. Not looking to qualify for HOYs just fun! Help!

at your weight, and with a daughter to share with, I would go for the pony,
ponies are fun and clever, horses are (relatively) dull and dopey.
also your friend telling you cannot compete on her is talking bollicks IMO

Thanks! I lost my confidence badly and this little chap made me enjoy riding and made me smile ear to ear! Taking daughter to try him tonite. Fingers crossed she luvs him too!!

Depends on what show classes you'd want to do on him. Many pony classes do have age restrictions.

Is he a pure bred or a coloured? Do you know what sort of classes you'd like to do and I can advise on age restrictions.

still i would go for the pony though, you will have so much fun.

Im 5'10 and have a 14hh fell/cob. She is fantastic, gave me my confidence, looked after me and is loads of fun. She does a lovely dressage test, pops logs, and is zippy like a pony should be. She's also built like a tank and I don't look big on her

I'm 5ft6/5ft7 (Depending on whos measuring for some reason). I ride ponies and if i buy another it wil be around 13.2 - 14hh so i can share it with my daughter in a couple of years.
