Pony being bitten by another pony

Is there anything that can be done (apart from removing the culprit) to stop a horse biting other ponies when they're all out in the field together ?

The pony that is being bitten is fully clipped but wears a neck cover but the horse still manages to chomp on his neck and he has awful bite marks that have gone all hard.

Are there any safe homeopathic lotions that can be applied to deter chomping or any other suggestions ???

All I can think of is putting a muzzle on the biter but that depends on how long they are out in the field for. If it's just for a few hours run around it would be ok but obviously not if they live out. Or I wonder if Cribox is safe to put on the bitee? I mean it's safe to eat so it should be safe for skin shouldn't it? Maybe just spraying the rugs so they smell of it would be deterrent enough.

Mega tek or tec...cant remember how to spell it! They do a anti bite spray non toxic, no smell etc

I use it to stop others ripping dponys rug..make sure you cover your mouth when spraying it really gets down your throat!

Maybe the neck cover is the problem. Is the other horse getting frustrated because they are trying to mutually groom each other?

Are you sure they are bite marks?
