Time to buy?

With awful, cold weather and knee-deep mud, is this a really bad time of year to buy a hardy, child's pony? (The pony is hardy, the child is not too bad! ha sorry bad grammar) Thanks for any advice.

Now is a good time to buy
- as long as the pony has spent the winter hunting
- ponies do get excited in the spring which is just round the corner
Should be cheap at this time of year.

Thanks for reply. Unfortunately pony has been bit neglected since December but is very cheap and very beautiful. Will I need to put her on lead rein to get her sorted do you think? Rider is only 5, pony is 11hh welshie and 10 years old. Really want her, very sweet pony.....

Only you can make the decision
But fwiw, we had a 11h Welsh on loan
He was a nightmare - the strongest, rudest pony we've ever had!

lots of ground work (long reining and maybe an oder child to help ride?) and lead rein and the understanding that it may or may not be suitable off the lead rein so you may need another at that point! I've known great and terrible little welshies lol
