DD has just left for her dream weekend!

She is going to Hickstead to show some American Miniature Horse (or pocket ponies as dH calls them ). She is staying at the stables tonight, driving up at 5am tomorrow, gets a chance to watch all the show-jumping, help with the horses, camp that night, drive home on Sunday stopping off at another show and then home! All with her new very best friend who is also horse-obsessed.

She is going to be knackered but v happy.

She will have a great time. Our DD is 10 and often goes away to shows without us (not overnighters yet) and loves the camaraderie and the chance to do horsey things without us.

Yep. Brilliant! 'Her' horse (ie the one she loves best and always looks after) came third. Apparently there were people leading big show-jumpers around who would stop to go squeeee over the miniatures. Funny thing is Ellie always rides the BIG 18 handers when she has her lessons but spends all her weekends with this tiny ones - sublime to the ridiculous! Her room is full of tastelessly colourful rosettes from all the show she goes to.
