Cavan horse sale - any experiences?

Newbie here, so please be gentle . I've visited Cavan and Goresbridge horse sales quite a few times in the past but haven't bought - this time I'm seriously thinking of buying if I see a horse that looks like it will suit. Am aware of the challenges and pitfalls... But am wondering about other people's experiences - your thoughts are welcomed .

I have brought horse from markets before, would only do it now for a youngster 14-2 English type or smaller. Mainly because I don't think I have the facility, where I am now.
When you buy a horse from a sales would it be warrant to ride? because that first ride is a bit heart in the mouth moment!
I guess what for should worry about is what you should do if it all goes pear shaped.
Oh and it has worked out well for me.
