Defence Animal Centre /Household Cavalry Open Day.

1st June 10-4pm,DAC Melton Mowbray.We are going to drool over the lovely Household Cavalry horses and watch the displays.It is a busy weekend because the Heavy Horse show is on the 2nd at Brooksby Equestrian Centre,we went last year and it was fab.If you are in the area,both are well worth a visit.

Wow! Thank you for sharing that gem. Have just told DD and she's very keen to go. We're an hour away, but it'll be worth it.

Oooo - saw the heavy horse show at brooksby signs the other day but can't go. Didn't realise that the military horse thing was on though so will go to that

It was a brilliant day out! So interesting to get right behind the scenes like that. Took DD and a friend and they loved every bit.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it. We did too,although we only got there fairly late on.It was really interesting and the staff there are lovely.A friend works there and was telling me about Hornblower & Bob,to ex HC horses due to retire to private homes this year.Apparently,if you are interested you write expressing it,and they'll inform you when they are ready to go and you bid for them against other interested parties.She says the bidding starts at about £500.They'd certainly be bombproof!
