My 4 are living out, but come in every day to be fed rug check etc.
Went to get them in today and 2 barged past me, I wasn't too worried as I thought they would just go into the barn for their feed, no, the buggers took off down the drive, over the road and straight into lady Mucks garden opposite, I grabbed extra head collars and got them out of there within 5 minutes, but they have still left some lovely hoof prints in her lawn
I have a history with this woman, she usually keeps her gate shut, so her workmen park in my gateway (farm so obviously I don't need to get access ).

I have been over and apologised, but I suspect she will be thinking of suing and generally making my life hell. I have BHS insurance so not the end of the world, but I could do without this

Deny all knowledge - really where on earth could those prints have come from, i'll keep an eye out for any escaped horses

Obviously I've been watching too much CSI all she had to do was follow the hoof prints in the snow to find the culprits so thought it better to confess

Any decent person when you told them that your horses had barged you sideways would ask "Are you hurt"?

I'm guessing this wasn't her reaction.

I'm not sure any solicitor would advise a client to sue over a few hoof prints. Can you not tread the divots in and buy her a box of grass seed/chocolates? I'd be very happy if I got chocolates for a couple of hoof prints on my lawn.

Lol!!! Been there. Thankfully the Owner of the livery yard laughed after his garden was trashed three times
