Last year I'd booked lessons to get back in the saddle after 5 years out of it, and found out I was pregnant three days before my first lesson. DS is now 10 weeks and I'm hoping to try a lesson in Feb/March. I had forceps and a third degree tear - I feel fine, but for mum's who know what it's like to start riding after birth, do you think I've left myself enough recovery time? It will be half hour private lessons for a start

I think you'll be fine, but you no your own body. If you can squat etc comfortably and everything has healed well, go for it,
I made the mistake of getting on after a week, i didnt sit down i got straight off the other side lol, oh the things we do.
Good luck and enjoy getting back in the saddle

I probably got on about 8 weeks after 3rd degree tear, cantering downhill did make me wet myself, not sure if that was bruising or fear ! Grin

Ha, a bit of both I can imagine! I'm looking forward to it, just need to wait for the private lesson diary to open for next month

3weeks after same delivery. My last ride was two weeks before he came. I'd actually planned on riding the day he came as I was fed up! So I was riding fit, had said that I'd try to get on, if it hurt I wouldn't. Trotting hurt the first two weeks but now 12 weeks post delivery I'm back to normal. Slightly unbalanced but improving daily as my core strengthens!!

Maybe try riding a bike first if you're worried?!

Think a bike might be worse?! I'm sure it will be fine, have been lucky recovery wise I think x
