Mini Whinnies are going in my 9yo pony-lovers stocking Smile

Raid the Utterly Horses catalog?
I'd browse on Ebay.
I'm always eyeing up pony-pattern sox for DD.

Pays close attention to this thread... Last year (when 8) she got Top Trumps Ponys and that was a huge success...

Callisto · 13/12/2012 18:06

Gloves, hat silk, pony treats, fluffy socks to keep feet warm when riding.

DD (7) is getting Practical Horse Whispering and Jill's Gymkhana (both Amazon) in her stocking this year.

Callisto · 13/12/2012 18:07

If your DD competes a tie pin might be a good stocking filler.

jennyftm · 17/12/2012 13:24

ditto to Jill's Gymkhana - the Jill pony books were my favourite when young.
also there were the pullein thomson books
Or the Black Stallion by Walter Farley - I read that aged 11 and really enjoyed it. I am sure I have seen lots of pony things but as I dont have any pony mad children I cant remember where it was !

DS has got a mini tub trug (cheap mixtas one from Equestrian clearance) with glitter mane spray, silver plaiting bands, a new lead rope, new dandy brush, gloves, warm socks, hi vis neck strap and hi vis leg wraps wrapped up in there.

His big present is saddle bags - apparently so they can go further and take a picnic with them

The ponys stocking has got the treats in it, and he'll get a seasonal bucket of chaff with carrots (never gets bucket food normally).

Snazzy hoof pick? Colourful brushes? New silk? Sparky whip? Sparkly iron on transfers for her horses stuff?

Callisto · 18/12/2012 08:26

I'd love your DS's stocking for myselft CMOT, it sounds great.

CMOTDibbler · 18/12/2012 10:35

It was well cheap Callisto - I spent £30 in equestrian clearance, including some new gloves for me, and the hi vis was free from Fast Tack Direct when I got the saddle bags, numnah and dponys new lightweight rug (£26 lucky dip!).

Theres hi vis bits on ebay for 1.99 or so too

ponymaloney · 18/12/2012 10:44

My just 10 year old has a stable for Jill (she LOVED Jills Gymkhana), a sparkly whip, heart shaped brush, schleich pony, thelwell notebook, whitening shampoo for his legs and a stock :-)

How about a folding hoof pick? They are good for pockets as you don't have to worry about getting stabbed if you fall off the horse Wink. And if your dd hasn't got her own pony she can still fantasise about the day she is on a hack or at a show and there is a stone in Princess Anne's horse's a shoe so she can whip out her trusty hoof pick and save the day like I do Blush. It's bound to happen eventually right?
(I also think mine would make a pretty good knuckle duster/pointy weapon if need be but perhaps best not to tell a 9 yo that Grin).

DD (8) is getting two Saddle Club DVDs £3 each free delivery from HMV absolute bargain!, pony socks, Playmobil horse and jockey and Jill's Gymkhana (from Amazon), I loved those books when I was her age!
