11yo DD - short boots & half chaps or long boots?

She's been having weekly lessons for 2 1/2 years. Doing a bit of cantering and working towards D+ & Silver.

She's at the growing-like-a-weed stage. She's been wearing short boots but the current pair are getting small and her instructor has said to get either long boots or half chaps.

I have NO idea what's what - any advice on what I should be looking for please?

Thanks

If she is planning on doing any showing, then long boots are wrong. If you get her short boots and chaps then she can wear them all the time, and you just need to polish up the boots for shows.

Short boots and chaps are the way to go. I buy jod boots for ds on ebay as they are often very little worn, and much cheaper

Thank you both - short boots & chaps it is :-)

You don't want to be the one pulling off tight, dirty long boots in the freezing cold.

Short boots and chaps every time - can get some very funky chaps Xmas Smile
