So the boys have all got their med weights on tonight, earlier than I would have liked but its bloody freezing!!
I love love love rug shopping, the smell, the feel, the lovely wee bag they come packed in but even the purchasing pales in comparsion to the first putting on.
Getting all the straps the right length, leave the neck on or not, and just the joy of seeing your horse all snuggly warm and handsome in his new garment.
And the despair at the foot long tear down the side the next morning

Anyone else have a rug fetish?

Im with you! Grin
Mine have matching jade green Amigo lightweights at the moment. They look gorgeous! It's lovely when you get that lovely squishy parcel in the post!

Oh I know!! Amigos are a fav of mine, one has a charcoal and aqua my old boy is in a blue and gold derby house (tis very plush looking!!) and the youngster a red shires that Im not very keen on, think I will get him an Amigo aswell.
Heavyweight shopping next, love Rambos dont think you can get a much better rug for fit and hardwearingness (sp?!) but £££. Maybe check out ebay, although have seen some lovely heavy Amigos that are reasonable.

I won't have anything other than Horseware Ireland!
here is quite reasonable for Amigo's and Rhinos.

I am a fan of premier equine rugs, particularly the super heavyweight, but agree with you about the Amigos. Also love Boet.

The closest I get is my pleasure at putting rugs away all nice and clean and repaired. Dpony will be lucky to get a rug on before December - he can keep warm by wrapping his mane round him Smile

Oh thanks for the link Saggy. My bank card has just scuttled away to hide in the corner!! Heres to more squishy parcels arriving shortly!!

Buying rugs was always my fave part of shopping for horses . Our pony has a lovely new turnout rug for this year with purple daisies on it !

pinkbluepink · 17/09/2012 21:41

My horse is turned out with a rug chewer. It's very upsetting. I can't buy him nice new rugs as they will be shredded within a week. Even if we put a tatty lightweight one on over the top it doesn't work - The rugwrecker will see to it that he shreds top and bottom rugs in one. :(

OK I confess . I am the Imelda Marcos of rugs . Wimpyhorse refuses to leave his stable without one once we get into October , whereas Bitchpony refuses to wear one ever, which I find very disappointing .
