Lighting with no electric ??

Now the nights are starting to draw in I need to think of my strategy for lighting. What do people use for those who have no mains electric ? I've seen what seem to be reasonable solar lights, but are they any good ?? Imagine i would need an hour's light Monday to Thursday. Any suggestions ?

You can get lights that run off of a car battery. They are pretty good, just dont expect miracles!

Petrol generator. I also bought some battery operated fairylights!!Which are great when I don't want full lights!

You can get pretty good LED battery lanterns /work lights which hang up. Maybe a few of these would help.
