Just bought three year old dun warmblood, who is nameless!! Despite having trawled through the baby names on MM, I still have no inspiration!!

Do you have a favourite book? Story? Place? What's his pedigree name?

prelim29 · 06/09/2012 18:14

Dundee
Dunroamin
Dunundusted
Duncan

(sorry, had to be done - dun!!) lol.xx

frostyfingers · 06/09/2012 18:44

Try looking at an old map for a nice field name - sounds a bit weird but some fields have fab horse names!

truandrakni · 06/09/2012 19:09

Do you have pics? What colour dun? Is it definately dun or possibly buckskin. Very exciting for you :)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 06/09/2012 20:20

Ooh yes. I picture please! I personally love a buckskin!

fairieswearboots · 06/09/2012 22:32

San Diego ( Sandy)

Dusty

Sunny

Pharoah

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 06/09/2012 22:53

If he is actually a buckskin, you could go with an native american type name. Apache, Cherokee or similar.

lucertola28 · 07/09/2012 03:10

I was watching a video of a girl and her horse and he was called Noah I though it was such a cute name for a pony or horse (unless you have a ds called Noah of course)

I like Pharoah too!

Is it a mare or gelding?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/09/2012 08:37

Ooh, I like Noah!

Lilibel · 07/09/2012 09:13

Oh yes, should have said, mare! Definitely dun, not buckskin. My little winter project. Wink

Don't know why. but assumed was a gelding!

Summer

Dusty would work for a girl too, like dusty springfield, esp if has long black eyelashes!

Sandy

Caramel

Honey/Honeybee

Sienna

Saffron

FrankelSaysRelax · 07/09/2012 11:43

Do you know the names of his sire and dam? I work in racing and always like to see the owners using the sire and dam for name inspiration Grin

Pixel · 07/09/2012 11:59

Champagne? You could lengthen it in all sorts of ways if you wanted a posh show name. Or Champagne bubbles, but Bubbles for short. (or is that too twee? Blush Possibly better for palomino?).
I knew a dun pony called Shammy which was named because it was the colour of chamois leather, don't think the owner was hot on spelling.

gordyslovesheep · 07/09/2012 14:46

Fizzy aka Champagne!
Honey is nice

ExitPursuedByABear · 07/09/2012 14:49

AllPastYears · 07/09/2012 19:13

Crumble. We're on a roll with the food ideas... Also, is it a stable name you're wanting or a show name?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/09/2012 22:24

Savannah?

Plomino · 07/09/2012 23:23

I always liked The Dun Thing as a show name, but I think it used to belong to an event horse years ago , in the century when I used to be brave and compete !

lucertola28 · 08/09/2012 13:01

I heard this name before 'Dun in Diamonds' could be diamond as stable name.

Other names I like:

Lucy

Fawn

Jazz

Some other ideas:

Willow
Sugar Plum Fairy
Candy
Blossom
Cappucino
Chocolate kiss
Cookie
Jasmine
