Another showing question - collar pins

I need to purchase a child's show shirt and collar pin and wondered if the pins are thin enough to simply push through the collar or if I need to have holes put in the collar first, if so are they sold like this or what could I use to make them without making a mess of it?

You don't have to have collar pins and I can't recall seeing any shirts with holes. Would recommend avoiding the Equetech shirts as they horrible to iron and the collars never sit right once they've been washed.

Some shirts need a collar pin, others have "fly away" collars and don't. If you buy a shirt that needs a pin you'll have to make the holes yourself, I've found a plaiting needle quite good for this.

I second the non-recommendation for an Equetech shirt. DD has one and the collar is just not right with a tie. Shame because it is stretchy and comfy other than that. (I never iron so can't comment on the ironability of it).

We've never used a collar pin - sorry. We have just bought DD a new tie pin though at Equifest because her old one - whilst dinky - was looking too small on her now.

Thanks ladies, I was going to buy an Equetech shirt but will definitely look elsewhere now.
