riding in jeggings?

Just a quick question in prep for my return to the saddle :)

Are jeggings suitable for riding? I will buy jodhpurs if I continue riding long term and after I have lost some weight Grin

my daughter rides in jeggings, she says they are fine, although do not have those nice kneepad things that make a long ride more comfortable.

BLEURGH! Why would yOu even own such a thing!? Confused

Just wear jeans! Grin

Jeggins will be fine, as long as you have long boots/chaps to prevent the leathers pinching your legs

Callisto · 17/08/2012 10:15

Awful things, bin them at once!!! Grin

I ride in jeans, most days and usually 2 or 3 lots. Wranglers are most comfy as the seam is on the outside, get some decent joddy or paddock boots and some long socks and you'll be fine. I do think that normal jodphurs are overpriced for what you get - namely a bit of stretchy cotton with odd seams, and would only ever wear them for hunting or shows.

Pah - i don't wear Jod's unless i absoloutly have to, ride in jeggins most of the time, make sure you've got some long socks underneath to stop leathers pinching. Be prepared to ache lol

Tsk, scruffy lot Shock breeches or mods every time please. Horse brushed, no shavings/straw in tail, boots clean. Come on you know it's for the best Grin

Loshad · 17/08/2012 20:19

Mods?? Mods! Blooming iPad !

Callisto · 20/08/2012 12:46

I have a picture of you and your horse beautifull turned out, riding with a bunch of parka-wearing yooves on mopeds, Loshad Grin

Tesco are selling cotton jodhpurs for less than £9 ATM, BTW.

Shutupanddrive · 30/08/2012 21:59

Yes it's fine, I always ride in mine. Much more comfy than jeans!
