quick question about gloves

hi was wondering if anyone could help please, as i have no experience in this area at all?

DS (4) has been going pony riding for a few months now, only every other week and he mostly is having a go with little ponies (shetlands i think?). i am not sure if its going to be a long term thing, as we are not a horsey family at all and we would never have enough money to own/look after a horse. but for the time being he is having fun, and his little sister seems quite desperate to get on a pony too!

anyway he has said that he would like some riding gloves - what type should i be looking for? i see that you can get cotton, leather, neoprene, decorated pink ones Grin. is there anything in particular you would recommend?

thank you so much!

My ds has about 7 pairs, but the ones that get worn most are these when its colder and these when its warmer. They do help a lot in gripping the reins.

Agree that Magic Gloves are fine for little ones in the Winter. In the Summer DD wears these - they come in different colours: www.dragonflysaddlery.co.uk/addtocart.asp?categoryid=64&subcatid=159&hr=h&categoryname=Gloves+%26+Scarves&subcatname=Gloves&itemid=834

Thank you both, have ordered some magic gloves for christmas stocking, and have found some mountain horse gloves on ebay for the summer. I suppose it will be boots next !

Boots are def an ebay buy - ds has second hand jodphur boots off there for the summer/dry weather, and Woof Wear thermal boots for winter and wet. The ww boots are his general winter boots too as they are so comfy

Cotton pimple grip gloves for summer and magic gloves for winter are more than adequate for kids learning to ride. Cheap and cheerful!

well my gloves never arrived from ebay Angry, so took your advice rogersmellyonthetelly and have re ordered some cotton pimple gloves, only 2.50. they arrived yesterday and look fine for a 15 min ride every couple of weeks. DS is really chuffed that he has riding gloves now !
