Nearly a month after we first enquired,we are going to see a little pony for DD2.On paper she is exactly what we've been looking for so I'm cautiously hopeful. She will be the 20th pony we have been to see,and I have lost count of how many I've enquired about,so please cross your fingers for us!

Really good luck Mirage. Tell all when you get back.

Oh no,they have cancelled due to the weather.SadThis is the second time they've cancelled, the first time was because it was Father's day and they'd forgotten they were booked out for lunch. They are away for a week so we are now meant to be going next Saturday.

Poor DD2,she was so excited this morning.Sad

What a pain! Do you think they're just disorganised or blowing a bit hot and cold?

Mirage · 21/06/2012 13:51

Disorganised I think, the daughter whose pony it was,has been doing her A levels, and in revision classes after school,so hasn't been available on weekdays. They did suggest last Saturday, but I was busy,so we agreed Sunday, then that got cancelled and rearranged for today.

To give them their due, someone had been booked to see the pony before I first enquired, and trhe vendor said that if it they didn't want her or it fell through, she'd ring me,but she'd let me know either way.She did as she said and text me to say that the other people wanted her,but couldn't pick her up for 2 weeks, due to holidays and if it fell through, should she let me know? I said yes please.2 weeks later she rang to say the first people hadn't been in touch,so she'd rung them to find out what time they were coming, and they said that they'd found a loan pony and didn't want her anymore.

So,they have been mucked around I suppose, they booked their holiday thinking the sale would have gone through weeks earlier and it would have all been sorted out by now.At least they have promised that no one else gets to view her before us.I don't know what I'll do if she cancels on us again though.Sad

Must be so frustrating, it's the excitement then getting let down that's worse I think. Its a long shot but I have what I reckon is the 'perfect pony' currently just about to start advertising, no idea where you're based or your criteria but if you want any details pm me. Good luck with your search, all the let downs will be worth it when you find 'the one' :)

Oh goodness, how frustrating and infuriating. I remember when I was looking, we were all set to go and see the 'perfect pony' for DD and the day we were going to see her the bloody owner phoned to say she had been sold. Grrrr. They hadn't bothered to tell me she was already on first refusal with someone else. Poor DD was sooo disappointed, but it worked out well in the end as the next pony we saw really was that perfect pony.

Oh what a pain! Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end. Good luck for next week!
