What height stable roof?

Hiya,

We are in the process of taking on a little yard and the 2 main stables need rebuilding, they will be 12 x 12 but not sure what height to go? We're thinking 10ft at the front sloping back to 8ft but not sure if this is tall enough for our 16.2 horses? They will mainly live out but when they are in want them to be comfy. Can I have some opinions please?

Also, I will have space for a livery (all options considered) if anyone is interested? We're near Chobham, will give more accurate details to anyone that wants to know more.

We are currently going through planning permission to rebuild my yard from scratch , and looking at our plans , with a pitch roof they are 8 feet to the top, which is normal height for most stables . Mine are also going to be 'clear span ' though, which is without rafters .
