I know I'm not the only person snivelling through the trailer when it appears. Anyone seen it sneakily yet?

Was more than a bit traumatising on page and stage so am preparing for worst. (Cannot help noticing no mention of OUR major Morpurgo adaptation yet :()

I'm not going. Cried at the trailer when it came on while I was waiting for mission impossible. I'm betting it''s got all the saddest bits of Bambi, Dumbo, Black Beauty, ET and Saving Private Ryan combined. I only had to hear "be brave" on the trailer and I was gone.

I found it very, very overrated! I did cry, but it was when the soldiers went over the top and the scene in No Mans Land with Joey by himself (have no idea how the hell they filmed that, but imo it went on for too long!). All in all it was a ok film but you can tell when the sad bits are coming cause Spielburg bludgeons you over the head with the sad music. Also the anthromorphising (sp?) of the horse got on my pigging nerves. Horses don't react to things the same way people do - but in this film they do.

I thought it wsa pretty rubbish! and just couldn't get beyond how immaculate the horses looked. Didn't cry at all and some of the scenes with the horse 'deciding' to do things were ridiculous. The book is a gazilliion times better.
