you might remember rosies ongoing mudfever saga - well it had appeared to heal up, then last week it all burst out again called the vet who told me wasn't mudfever but some weird auto immune disease! now on heaps of drugs and potions and vet not optimistic - grrr

Oh Loshad, sorry to hear that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and your horse. Keep us posted, hopefully the potions will help

Sorry to hear this :( is it pemphigus foliaceus? is common in dogs (maybe cats too I think), why is vet not optimistic?

Sounds nasty. Fingers crossed for you, hopefully the vet is being a misery guts and the drugs will work. Surely he wouldn't have prescribed them if there wasn't a chance?

Oh dear, sorry Loshad I can now see why you are so worried. I promise you though, I did see plenty of optimistic stories in my googling where horses have recovered well and some helpful suggestions re: homeopathy etc, long term care etc. this for instance

no mitchy it is - goes off to check - it's leukocytoclastic vasculitis - with a photoaggravated component !

It does look a little better tonight - though very black from the silver cream oxisiding but giving her the medicines is a challenge - trying to prevent most of it from runnign down my arm

vet not really a misery guts - just reading from his unspoken comments, plus questions about was she still insured for vets bills, and the fact that with auto immune problems even if you cleaqr them up they do tend to recur and are generally lifelong conditions her legs are too sore to put boots on, but she moves quite close behind so even tho she isn't lame am reluctant to ride her.
