Broken toe - sympathy please!

My new horse (please note not dhorse yet...) had a fright as I was putting on his headcollar and managed to land heavily on my foot.

After hobbling about for 1/2 day a trip to A&E confirmed my toe is broken - and it is so painful it's not true, although the nice man at A&E thought I'd broken much more so I suppose I should count myself lucky.

No point to this post, it's just that I've exhausted all real life sympathy so I thought I'd try here!

I'm hoping to do a 12 mile fun ride on Sunday - fingers crossed the swelling is down enough by then!

Oh dear. Do you have a nice loose pair of boots for Sunday? Could make the world of difference.

Broken toes are not fun and as far as I recall there is sod all you can do except take pain killers. Wine is also good but not at 9.30 in the morning.

I've broken the same toe twice because of horses standing on it. It is painful and you have my sympathy entirely. Loose boots and a stiff upper lip for Sunday's ride. (and maybe some painkillers to take the edge off).

Well I did manage the 12 miles yesterday, and new horse was very good. He was bouncy but safe and we jumped lots of lovely log piles and I had no problems stopping him at all.

However, my toe is now throbbing away nicely in revenge for being a bit squidged up, even though I've taken some pain killers.

I'm glad I took him though and am on the lookout for another fun ride soon!

Well done, bit Envy of your day but not the toe of course. Hope it's not too uncomfortable.

Oh, a broken toe is the sorest thing ever. You have lots of sympathy here.
I don't think they even get strapped these days so be careful.
