Spring Grass on the way??

My big boy has started getting very full of himself in the last week or so, messing about when leading him out of field etc, spooking and being generally skitish. Nothing dangerous just seems excited, anyone else noticed a change?

Spring is definitely in the air. All the horses at the yard are being particularly stupid (and most are stabled most of the time) and DD's pony was very keen when we took him out at the weekend. Not sure if the grass is growing - it was a couple of weeks ago, but we have had some really cold weather which has stopped it again. I think it is just a general sense of relief/excitement that winter is nearly over - they probably pick it up from us too.

The grass will grow as soon as the temperature hits 4 degrees. It's been creeping through here for weeks between cold spells.

No grass here yet but the wild parsley and goosegrass is springing up all along the verges.

A strange day today, it was warm enough for them to have their rugs off for a while, yet the water troughs were still iced over when I checked them at 11am. Confused

The mud is starting to dry up, hurrah!

Def a lot of silliness in the pony field - dh got kicked squarely on the bum by one of the others last week for no apparent reason.
