Second hand riding boots - how much would you pay???

I used to have a much loved pair of brown riding boots years ago, and they got eaten by a rat or something when I put them up in the loft.

I have not been involved with horses for about 15 years so am not in the know these days but now I would love another pair.

Found a pair for £180 ! Is that alot or am I really out of the loop?

I paid that for a new pair about 20 years ago!

Any ideas on where to look apart from Ebay? I'm in Hampshire if that helps.

I paid about 500 for a pair going back 15 years but they were very special boots ..... Just getting back into it and bought a pair of Just Togs Clarington? field boots for about £100 which are really nice ...... I seriously doubt I'd pay £180 for a pair of second hand boots unless they were in very good condition and very good to start with

I got some second hand toggis for £40. they're normally around 80.

depends what you want them for?

posh dressage. show boots... not a lot really.

wearing in the field... probably too much

what make are they?

Whoremoanghoul · 15/10/2010 14:32

cant remember the make - I must ask.
I am thinking I would rather have a new pair for the money!

I wouldn't pay that much for a second hand pair as you can get normal boots new for that much money.

If you are buying top of the range show/dressage boots then that is cheap but you'd probably want to try them out for size as they are often made to measure and have moulded to the shape of the previous rider.

Have a cruise of larger tack shop magazines on line like Derby House etc to see ranges and prices.

You could nearly get a new pair of Ariats for that! And try them on and give your local tack shop some business!
