With no job to go to. Been teaching 23 years. Feels so weird, but my school is spiralling downhill so fast. Behaviour is atrocious and by all reports it the same everywhere. I'm sick of incompetent leadership. Feeling lost but I can't keep giving my life to other people's kids while I neglect my own family...

Sending a hug. Take care of yourself and find an employee who deserves you. Can you tutor ? My niece graduated as a primary teacher, loads of experience great degree and references but can’t get a post where they will take her through the qts process, not sure proper title. So she is a classroom assistant supporting someone with a ceramics degree and pg teaching certificate in a classroom which sounds like a zoo under resourced etc and parents who take no responsibility whatsoever. She’s doing her best, massive extra hours etc. Something needs to be done to improve the system because despite staff effort it is broken.

Congratulations! You'll work it out.

Fair play to you. Sometimes you’ve just got to protect your own wellbeing. Have you thought about what you want to do next?

Behaviour is awful all over at the moment, I don’t blame you. I’ve got an interview for another school soon, but I’m thinking of applying outside of school all together as I don’t think behaviour is any better where I’m looking at.

No idea what I'm going to do. I could cope with behaviour if there was ever any consequences. It seems like every single badly behaved child had endless excuses. They can basically just refuse to work, refuse to even stay in the room and do whatever they like.
