any recommendations for a huge bag to carry books home to mark?

Just a bag for life from the supermarket or a trolley with wheels - but they're a pain if you have to go up & down any stairs.

Nothing special, a bag for life does the job. You can get some really pretty ones these days in the supermarkets, and some do character ones etc too.

I don’t bring books home ever. I bought a reasonably sized bag and promised myself I would not be a teacher with 6 bags for life a hand bag and a lunch bag. I have a leather Paul Costello leather tote that does me for everything. I can fit in a set of exams and 10 exercise books if I need too but I a never bring books home any more
