Hi all,
I'm a TA in a primary school, like other schools, its a tough time and workload, behaviour and lack of funding is an issue.
I've caught one bug after another since September, time off here and there and am struggling.
It has got to a point that I'm thinking I'll leave because of all the factors above but not sure whether that's the right thing. Debating long term sick to get myself right but a few staff members have done that recently so I know the impact it has on people. Would my union be able to advise do you think?
What would you do? Or is anyone in a similar position?

You are talking about two separate issues here TBH. If you are unwell with a cold, flu, stomach bug etc. You obviously take the time off and recover. However, if you are struggling with your mental health then you need to speak to your GP about your fitness to be in school ATM. Take care of yourself - often it is easier to call in sick with a physical illness but not always easy to do when our mental health is poor.
