Any ideas for casual work for teachers over the long holidays (and possibly term time) to own a few extra £££s

I need to up income by a few hundred pounds a month while we are doing work on our house. I'm interested in work that I can do from home, mostly on my own schedule that pays enough to make the effort worth it.

I've done tutoring (English) a long time ago so would consider that but only online. I think working with students learning English would be interesting. I just don't know where to start with a good/reputable agency or platform. I also don't currently have any tefl/tesol qualification.

I would also consider proof-reading or copy writing or similar. I have pretty good IT skills and I've also heard that being a virtual assistant is something that some people do for extra money.

Any suggestions very welcome.

What do you teach - english?

Do you have any marketable skills? If you want to earn quite a lot but have it suit you hours wise you need something highly skilled and in demand. Copy writing and proofreading etc are under threat from AI so i wouldn't bother with that.

IT skills - can you code, build power apps, create alteryx flows or anything like that?

Are you willing to do a tefl course? I think for reliable, better paid English teaching work you'd need a qualification.

there are a fair number of AI training jobs available if you search for these?
Basically proof reading AI responses and improving them for various organisations who are selling them to educators (and students....)

For EFL tutoring, try registering on the website italki.com. I’ve done EFL tutoring for them for years. It’s very professionally run.
