Gift for new teacher

Our PGCE student has been brilliant and we would like to get her a gift when she leaves us next month. There are only 2 of us in the department and we are looking to spend £30-40. If you are a newly qualified teacher, what did you get (or would have liked to receive) that was a big hit. We won't be buying alcohol. I did consider a personalised planner but would rather not give something that is only useable for a year. Also, I don't know how relevant this may be, but she came to teaching quite late after a long and successful career. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Some lovely pens, post-it notes, a decent travel mug, maybe a personalised pen pot for her new classroom?

You sound lovely Smile

A Ryman gift card? Could be handy.

a good quality travel mug would be well used and appreciated. You could pop it in a sturdy bag - a jute one? - which would also be well used.

My favourite travel mug is my contigo...

I am always putting it down in my classroom and even when I get to it 4 hours later it's still hot... They're quite pricey (I think) but sooooo valuable.

Yeti mug - (100% spill proof, really robust)
refillable board pens
decent dotty paper notebook

we got a personalised bag cotton tote that said miss xxxx on it for our ECT. That was £25 from NOTHS. She uses it everyday for the last 2 years. Some maxiflo board pens and BIC 4 colour pens with the squidgy grip and a contigo mug!

A gift voucher somewhere totally unrelated to teaching, for when she's stressed as an ECT and needs a pick me up, she can treat herself.

Or something like a 'f#&k it bucket'.

Bucket full of a range of treats for those days we all have where we just think 'f#&k it!'
