Toxic Head Toxic Stress

I work in a school with a notorious bullying headteacher. There is, worryingly, a culture of fear where staff desperately try to avoid being targeted. I am head of a large department who also carry the stress and strain of working in this toxic atmosphere. I’m under so much pressure to perform or face a barrage of criticism and scrutiny. I am trying my best, but also juggling the demands of my children and homelife. I try to keep things in perspective but it’s tough. Anyone had a similar experience and reassuring words of advice?

Have you raised your concerns with the HT or CoG?
what was the outcome?

Sounds like you need to start looking for a new school - and I’m sure with your experience you’ll find it easy - we are extremely close to the resignation deadline for a August departure but you might find a suitable job - look on TES.

Good luck OP - you will be fine 🌺
