Therapeutic school/career change

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, I’m currently the registered manager of a children’s home, sick of being permanently ‘on call’ to answer queries, worrying about rota cover etc. I’ve had enough. I’ve seen a teaching job in a therapeutic school, I’m familiar with the school as I’ve had kids in my care attend there. I’ve no issues with the ethos of the school. I sent an expression of interest in the job on Sunday and was invited for an interview tomorrow ahead of schedule as I’m going on holiday on Thursday so couldn’t make the pre arranged date. Does anyone have any view on whether this sounds like a good move? I’m used to kids with huge behavioural issues so that doesn’t worry me, the thought of term time only and no nights or weekends is very appealing! I know my name was mentioned in the school on Monday morning as being interested as I saw one of the staff later that day and they mentioned it. Sorry if that’s garbled, I’m on my way out but thought I’d ask here for any views? I’m PGCE qualified and have taught pregnant teenagers previously for a few years so have some classroom experience.

Absolutely go for it. You didn't say directly - is it a teaching job? If so, knowing your background, they might focus on the teaching skills aspect of the job. What is the age group and role/subject(s)? If you've not taught in a while, you might find it useful to brush up on the curriculum and GCSE options to impress at interview.

@ThesebeautifulthingsthatIvegot thanks, the exact role wasn’t clear but I think it is teaching. I’ve written learning materials before and worked as an on line tutor but haven’t done classroom teaching for a while. The interview/meeting is tomorrow, I asked if I need to take anything or prepare anything and they said no. It’s not clear what tomorrow involves but I know the head teacher from meetings about kids I care for so maybe it’s informal?! I’ll find out tomorrow, but thanks for saying you think it’s a positive option. See how it goes, I’ve nothing to lose 😊
