Why is it common for independent schools to favour the Senior department? What I mean by this is both sections (Prep & Senior) have a head, but the Head of Prep has Deputies for Pastoral & Academic whom report to the Head of Prep, and the Head of Prep reports to the Headmaster. But the Senior department to have the same Deputy roles who report directly to the Headmaster.
Surely it would make more sense for the Head of Prep to be responsible for the students to report to the whole-school Pastoral Deputy and have all academic management lead by the Academic Deputy so standards are same across the school with the prep Subject Leads reporting to them??
