Who should be DSL trained

Which members of staff should be DSL trained? Does being trained automatically mean you are appointed as a DSL/DDSL?

It can vary by school. I’m a secondary HT and the following are DSL trained:

Headteacher
Deputy Heads x 2
Assistant Head x 1
Head of SEN

@MN2025 are all of those staff part of the main pastoral team? Or is the second DHT i/c of academic just with DSL responsibilities?

I'm a class teacher/SENCO and trained so that there is always a DSL on site (part time head teacher, deputy could be on a course/sick etc).
