Policy Review Schedule

When does your school review its policies? Before or after the summer holidays?

Throughout the year - we'd never review them all in one go. There's a schedule showing which policies are on a 1 year and which are on a 3 year review cycle and then they are split between each of the Governors' meetings throughout the year.

What about the Safeguarding policy. I guess it should really be done during the holidays so it is ready to do staff training on the first INSET day.

Ours get delivered to us by the MAT and we have no input whatsoever. The head literally inserts the name of the school and forwards them to us half a dozen at a time to read, digest and follow.

I miss the days we went through the important ones together and had some involvement.

Review of Safeguarding Policy would probably be driven by publication of KCSIE which is usually June-ish for a September rollout I think
