Two weeks to go and I have a bloody chest infection 😔

Sorry, self indugent whinge - you are welcome to add your own whinge!

We have two weeks of term left (secondary), I'm a HoD and have loads to do, we have KS3 assessments so marking galore as well.

School is an absolute germ fest at the moment - we've had weeks of various staff members (and kids!) full of colds/sick bugs/chest infections.

My poor 2nd was off for a full week the week before last with a bad chest infection (she is asthmatic as well so it is really bad). Then Friday, she came in but had to go early as she was really unwell again bless her. Another colleague also had to go home after they had to leg it out of the room to be sick 😫

And now I am sat here full of a cold and can tell I have a bloody chest infection 😥 waiting for a call back from 111 for an antibiotic and I feel totally grim.

Promised DS we would put the tree up today so need to do that, iron the school uniforms etc and prep for tomorrow (going to have to battle through as think my 2nd is going to be off).

We are a no 'fun' lessons/winding down school and the message last week was we all need to 'perform' until end of term. All well and good but we are dropping like flies.

It's rampant in our primary at the moment, so many staff off, but it cant be helped. Take the time you need and look after yourself and your family.

I'm sorry you're struggling. Staff absence is rife in our secondary too at the moment.
Take the time you need to properly recover, so many staff have either come in when they were too ill or returned when they were not recovered enough and only ended up suffering more.
The pressure and the guilt to go in is hard to fight, but fight for yourself and your health first <3
