Back tomorrow- I'm in complete denial! Trying to get back in the the productiv3 mindset by cleaning the bathrooms.

I’ve also gone into max productive mode today!
Over summer around the house I can be very relaxed, with jobs like clearing out my wardrobe, tidying the spare room, going to the tip etc, all
summer I’ve been like “oh I have so much time, I can do that tomorrow, no rush, I’m so free!” but now today I’m getting all this done!

I feel okay about going in tomorrow for an INSET, will be nice to see everyone and it should be an easy day (training 9-12 then lunch, then the afternoon to get ourselves/our classrooms organised).

But I think my “Sunday Blues” will kick in properly tomorrow night, the night before the kids come back. Argh!

I've just packed my school bag to try and make it seem real. Should probably sat an alarm as well!

A bit mixed if I'm honest.
There's a lot I'm looking forward to this year so trying to focus on that.
However, I also feel anxious about some things and I don't feel I fit in that well at my school on a personal level.

Been keeping busy this weekend- done lots of tidying, planning the INSET sessions I need to deliver to my department, going to do a casserole and bolognaise later to keep meal prep minimal this week, did a top up shop earlier, done some ironing and re done the beds 😂

Realistically, I know it will be fine once I get going. I just need to focus on the department and things I am looking forward to. I just feel so nervous about tomorrow 😫

Very anxious about going back to school. The weather wasn't great yesterday I didn't take my dc out so we've been to a farm this morning. However I kept checking my email expecting loads to appear while I was there. Thankfully I only got one as a reply to my email to the head about possibly being late tomorrow. I've done zero work this hols other than results analysis so need to at least plan my inset session for the dept for tomorrow. I will have to outline the changes I intended to implement this holiday rather than actually telling everyone it's done. I will plan the session tonight. We only have two year groups on Wednesday so I've got a couple of hours free to catch up a bit.

Im off to make bolognaise for dinner now. I had the same intentions as you @PumpkinPie2016 to make some meals for the week but I'm not sure I'll have time. I might throw a casserole in the slow cooker if I get a chance otherwise I'll have to do it tomorrow as I have to rescue dc's friends mum as soon as possible.

Well my car has decided it wanted to struggle starting today of all days, having been fine all summer, and it still didn't feel right after I got it going and drove around for a bit, so I may not be able to get in tomorrow and I have no idea how to manage getting the kids to the childminder's and then travelling to school on time without it (I can manage the latter by bus, but not both).

On a bloody Sunday, of course, and with a heavy training day on Monday, so if it's still fucked tomorrow I don't even know whether I can get it to a garage.

Other than that I'm as prepared as can be. Still excited after 20+ years, even got new stationery today. My timetable this year sucks (on paper - some classes may surprise me) because of the way school have arranged setting, BUT I am glad to work in an otherwise common-sense school, which takes timetables into account when dishing out duties and meetings. Certainly happier in this school than I was in my last, and now that the kids have seen me around for a few weeks I won't be entirely the "new one".

We have an associate head who we have no idea who they are, no idea what days they are doing etc no idea what is happening tomorrow, not been allowed to ask so tomorrow is going to be interesting! We do not even know if that head will be at ours or their own school tomorrow!

It could be an interesting term!

I've prolonged the evening to really stretch the holiday 😂 I could do with another 46 weeks of hols please, just until next summer 😂

I am baseless this year, been utilised to cover PPA and sickness. I feel totally lost about going back to school with that in mind. I've usually set up a classroom, met new class, possibly popped in over summer once to label books and pegs (primary). But not this year! Totally lost.

How has everyone's day been?

Despite my nerves, I actually had a really nice day 🙂

My new line manager came to find me this morning, just to chat and she was really nice and the worries I had, as we spoke, were relieved!

It was nice to see my colleagues and use my brain properly again!

Looking forward to INSET day 2 tomorrow - more department time tomorrow so that will be nice as we can talk curriculum and teaching and learning.

Also looking forward to the kids coming back later in the week.

I'm a TA who has had a tough run the last couple of years. I won't give too much detail but kept in a role far too long and it was not good for anyone.
Lovely start to term as had role and year change. I am however scared might get moved as having too nice a time- has happened before!
For the moment, I need to just try and accept I have started in a better place whatever happens next!
