Supply Agency did not even wish me “get well soon” when I notified a day before. Long term role.

When I joined the agency 5 months ago after leaving a toxic school, I felt very welcomed and that they were nice to me. They found me jobs straight away and now in a long term position, which was meant to continue after summer but they told me it won’t be the same year group as promised and will change so I said I will not stay and teach in nursery.

Then the week after was very poorly and texted on a Sunday to say I won’t be able to make it in. Agencies response was “please let the school know” then “good” then just “thanks”. Not even get well soon or let us know when you are better.

I feel like they are being pushy and show no care at all. I would have thought that agency are better.

Hi. I think you may just have a bad agency. In general they should let the school know if you’re ill.

If I’m in a long term post I would sometimes tell school directly but that’s usually after I’ve built up a relationship over several months.

Get well soon
