How many applicants for a Primary teaching job?

Following on from another thread. How many applicants does your school get for a job?
I am in a northern city which has 40 jobs within ten miles for Primary. . Not been in the job market for years but looking at changing schools as feeling stale. Realistically, how many applicants does your school get when they advertise? Most of my career has been in EYFS and don't know if that's a good or bad thing!

On average, very few these days but it depends on the opening. ECT jobs still tend to get 30+, but non-ECT jobs often get less than 10 applicants these days as it seems like most qualified teachers who wish to leave their current position are thinking of quitting the profession completely these days. A sad sign of the times.

As for TA jobs, less than 5. Who would want to be a TA these days on their pittance of a wage? We've had to advertise TA roles several times as sometimes you only get 2 applicants whose standard of English in their application isn't good enough to even get them to the interview stage. Another sad sign of the times. Why would anyone with the qualifications we're expecting go for a job with such poor pay? They could get more as a waitress at Costa.

I know TA jobs are not very many! We had two for a position in my class and neither of them had ever worked with children.
I appreciate it is area dependent though!

Two or three maybe. Quite an attractive school to work in too. Midlands so not massively high cost of living. TA positions we've had to readvertise and readvertise as we had literally no applicants.

Son been trying to get his first Ect role in West Sussex and it’s very competitive. One school tour he went on had 15 people looking around and it was their 3rd tour date of the week.
Luckily he’s sorted for September now.

Not many. 4-5 and we’re not finding ect posts any different. I remember when I got my nqt post (in the dark ages!) there were over 120 applicants for the post I got! We’re south east. Recruitment is a real headache.
