People are so unrealistic

I work as a pastoral lead/DSL in a secondary school and parents and people I speak to outside of school are so unrealistic about what a school can do.
In the last month I have had:
You need to sort vaping out
What are you doing to stop that kid giving my kid dirty looks?
Why can't my child just sit outside with his friend if he finds the lesson boring ?
These are just the 3 that have come to the top of my head but I have so many more.
Every other agency is shutting their doors/closing their waitlists and just batting it back to schools.
The expectation of a crumbling system is way too high .
Just ranting after a bad day but all others welcome to join.
I won't go into the actual serious safeguarding we are dealing with alongside this.

I think ALL parents should spend a couple of days in a school.

They would soon change how they think.

I teach in a small, church primary school and my mum volunteered for a few years in my school. She was blown away by what we do on a day to day basis. She honestly couldn't believe how I managed to teach a class of 30 kids. Never mind the rest of it.

She's nearly 80 now but always supports all teachers.

The general public are clueless. No advice but know I totally understand. Flowers

Totally agree - getting to the actual teaching is an achievement. As a class teacher I have so many social/emotional issues to navigate as among the children.
