NEU magazine- do any of you do the cryptic crossword?

I almost always manage to complete it, but there are usually a couple where I don't understand the cryptic part of the crossword. This month it's 8 Down and 26 Down. Can anyone explain the clues to me?

I do but haven't seen this month. Can you take a picture and I'll help?
