Does anyone have any experience? Is it a viable role with a good income?

It's a very good way of making a side income - or even a primary income. The easiest way to do it is through the tutor listing websites.

I also tutor online. It is a very good way of earning a profitable salary, being responsible for selecting your own students, your own hours and more importantly what you decide to teach.
