A few years ago I decided to write and self-publish a book called The Bastard Teacher - It Takes One To Teach One. Today I've decided to give one away on MN to someone who tells me a funny story about their teaching career that genuinely cracks me up.

If you don't have a story but still want to check out the book, the link is below.

⚠️ FAIR WARNING THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR EVERYONE... READ THE BLURB ⚠️

In a PE lesson once, my pupil complained of a sore rib. I thought she had probably pulled a muscle so told her to put a jumper on and keep it warm and mobile. She continued with the lesson. The next day I opened my laptop to an email from her from a hospital bed. Her lung had actually collapsed 🫣 She was in hospital for two weeks!

A Year 5 child was complaining of being cold and I said, in a patronising tone, "Oh, bless your cotton socks." He looked at me in absolute horror and screeched, "Cock and socks?!?!"

I'm useless at recalling things to the extent I could retell a funny teaching incident well enough to stand a chance of winning your book, OP (although I know there have been some!). So I've just bought it myself for my Kindle to leave the prize for someone who really deserves it!😇😁

I've also done my fair share of working with 'challenging' students (including the odd bit of' freelance GCSE tutoring for our local KS4 PRU!) so I'm really looking forward to reading it later! 😉
